Two entries for Day 5 of National Poetry Month

April is national poetry month. Since I’m already several days behind, I’m starting with a two-for-one challenge from Robert Lee Brewer of Writers Digest.

His challenge: Write a bright poem. Write a dark poem.

But since I never like to end on a sour note, I’m turning it around. First the dark poem. Then the bright one.

KALEIDOSCOPE I

Only patterns shift.
Colors trapped within a tube,
Light and change delude.

KALEIDOSCOPE II

Movement alters form.
Intrinsic structures, light-revealed,
Illumine the soul.
